Just some stuff?

Our beautiful, late Easter lily

It's been kinda busy around here. Yesterday, we had a friend over for the morning. He helped sooo much with the work around here. He cut down some trees, and hauled them. He didn't get to ride the horse though. Maybe next time. :) Then we rushed to shower and leave for our piano recital. He showed up, and scared us all half to death. The recital itself was pretty good, and small, which is always a plus. Then we stopped by Home Depot, got some gardening stuff, and worked some more outside. So we all had to shower again. It was great. Then this morning at church was senior recognition. It was great. :)

Erica's.....guess.... CAR!!!!

Erica's car!!! AAAHHHHHH!! We love it!

Philly, my girl

Soooo, Erica got a car!! It's a cute little Nissan Maxima. 02 model I think. We bought it from a guy that got it in Colorado, so it has a CO license. :) But the car is a manual. Erica went around for about an hour last night figuring it out. She loves it!! I really love it, too! I had wanted a stick shift car, that had a sun roof. The maxima has a sunroof. I absolutely love the new car! But I got my permit on Thursday! Yay! I'm pretty excited. It took me forever to get because I was lazy, but I have it now, so hopefully I won't kill people.... or Mom. :) Yesterday was the LAST day of school!! School is out. Yahooo! We're all pretty excited. We're going to Grandma's house today. So, yea. We all love Erica's cute, sweet, little car.

Cute Shirts

Some of the girls with the tie dyed shirts they made

All of us

She finished it yesterday morning, and did it twice after that!

There isn't much to say. I just wanted to show everyone all of our cute tie dye shirts, and that KK finished her Rubik's Cube. She's pretty good at it! We're off to her soccer game.

Tie Dye and Rubik's cube

We had some girls over and tie dyed some shirts. It was a blast!

Mom helped us, and got dye all over herself

A couple of the shirts

Kayla's been trying to figure the Rubik's Cube out

Lately, Kayla had been going crazy trying to figure out how to solve the Rubik's Cube. She's been watching videos on youtube, and gotten Dad to help her. She's really close. And she showed me a couple videos of the really good people. They can do those things in 8 1/2 seconds!! And blind-folded, 47. That's nuts! But anyway, I'll tell you when she figures out how to solve it.
I really wanted to get on here to show y'all the tie dye stuff. Kayla got a tie dye kit for Christmas, so she invited some friends over (she let me invite some, too) and we used it. There was so much dye, we didn't use it all, and we're going to have to get more shirts to use it up, but it was really fun. The shirts turned out really good, too!

Erica, Cleo, and Philly :)

Erica was great, and so was Cleo. Don't you love this picture? I wish Cleo would have opened her eyes.

Cleo is funny, and will practically follow you anywhere.

Y'all are probably tired of pictures of Philly. I'll try to control myself.

Just another episode of us riding and standing with Cleo outside. I'll try not to bother y'all with these pictures all the time, cause after a while, they start to look the same. I just liked the pictures of Erica and Cleo.

Riding Cleo-girl

Pretty girl, and horse!

If you look really close, or zoom in on the picture, you can see the gnats. They were terrible!

Cleo running from the halter again

Philly girl!

We were haltering up Cleo right after dinner, and decided to ride her, because it's been a while, and because it would stay day long enough. So we rode Cleo. It was fun. It's been a while, but it was great. Cleo was pretty good. Hopefully, we'll do this more often.

I'm doing this for Mom and Dad. They wanted to see all the pictures we took from riding. So we showed them, and, joking around, I said that this one picture looked like Lewis and Clark. See below. Don't you think? I thought it was pretty hilarious. Look again. Don't they look like Lewis and Clark, exploring? They even have the dog! But then we moved on, and Dad saw the picture of me in my braid, and said I looked like Sacagawea. He really wanted me to put it on the blog, so there you go. Lewis and Clark, and Sacagawea. :) And I also put another picture of the rose, opening up more. It's pretty, huh?

Chicks and pretty flowers (in other words, spring has sprung! Kind of late, though)

Nancy Grace again.... aren't they adorable?

Blondie and her new little chicks

Cute!

The new chicks are really sweet, and really young. They're about 2 days old. They still fall over all the time. While I was taking the pictures, one of the chicks was standing there, and then all of a sudden fell over, and it's two little legs stuck out in front of it, and the chick just sat there. Then it stood up again. But they're really sweet. Blondie is our little bantum chicken. She was the first chicken we ever got, and it was at an auction. She's the one with the chicks on her. The chicks are pretty big compared to her (even though they are actually very tiny) so I'm kind of wondering what she's going to do when they get big, but I think she can handle it.

Not so cute, but very pretty are some flowers. I saw them on the way to take pictures of the chicks, and I couldn't help myself. I didn't mean to turn into a flower parade, but I really liked them.
P.S. Do ya'll like the bigger pictures, or the smaller ones? Compare this entry to the one yesterday, and tell me. I'm just experimenting with pic size.
Beautiful new little rose

More Chicks

Well, last night Kayla bought 9 black orpingtons. They were only 1 day old and very sweet. We put them in with 2 mama hens to see if they would "adopt" them; and they did! So we will see how everything goes. We now have 3 hens mothering 15 babies. Now to keep away the predators (like dogs & cats) - that is the hard part. We'll keep you posted. May will be a busy month - no surprise there. Time to finish up some school work. Have a grand one. :) Shelly

Soccer and running horses

Kayla playing soccer

She almost made a goal

Cleo running in the backyard because she didn't want Erica to halter her

As you can see, the dogs had fun running with her

She got a little excited

Slowing down

Nancy and her little chicks

Philly girl

Grandma came over on Thursday, and left on Saturday after Kayla's first game. We had lots of fun with her. She bought me a birthday present, which I love! I wish she could have stayed longer though. Love you, Grandma! Thank you!
Kayla had her 3rd and 4th soccer games yesterday. We are all so sunburned. If you held a marshmallow too close to us, I'm sure it would spontaneously combust. :) She won the first game, and lost the other. She had lots of fun, and learned a lot. She wore sunglasses, so she looks like a raccoon. It's pretty funny.
I had some fun with Cleo. Erica discovered the other day that Cleo didn't want to be haltered, and she ran when she saw it. So Erica has been haltering her every night. I finally got a couple of pictures of her running, but the background isn't very good. But it was fun. Cleo is a very bad girl, though!
All the chicks with Nancy Grace are doing well. They can still get out of the coop, though, so we have to lock them up during the day. But I don't think they mind too much. Kayla also wants to get a couple more more chicks of a new breed, and give them to a different hen, so we'll see how that works out.
