Erica bought a German Shepherd puppy and brought her home in February 2013.  She has brought the total of dogs to 5.  Erica is busy training her and just having fun!

Birthdays are awesome - at least this one was! Only thing missing is Kayla - but she has a good excuse because she is in Africa.....but she called me to wish me Happy Birthday. :))

Kayla arrived in Africa!

Just a quick update, Kayla reached her final destination in Kalemi, Congo today after flying out of Houston last Wednesday.  We were relieved and excited to hear she had arrived.  Keep praying for her safety and protection and to be the hands and feet of Jesus serving with her great uncle, great aunt and cousin while she is there until mid-July.

Bret was able to go with Alissa to Dallas to cheer her on for our family.  We are so grateful for that. Alissa did very well for her first one, she was very close to her goal and was just glad to experience her first triathlon.  She is excited to be planning the next one in the fall. Kayla may join her! Also, Macy's father (and Bret's friend) Kyle Riggs was also able to attend.  It was a fun and great weekend.  The rest of us stayed here because it was our worship leader Jim Guthrie's last Sunday, so Erica sang in the choir performance in the morning and Kayla sang in the Youth choir evening performance.  Eventful weekend!

Easter was a little different for us this year because one of the girls had to go to work after church, so these pictures are taken BEFORE leaving for Sunday School!  We had a family dinner that evening when everyone was home.  Different, but definitely do-able.  So very thankful the girls are all still home to enjoy and be all together.

Southeast Texas Fair is held right here in Beaumont, so traveling, food and sleeping is all a bit better than most other shows.  :)  Kayla's last year was good.  We had fun being together and she was a very hard worker taking care of her animals; a fact that did not go unnoticed by many parents and other adults who all commented to us how hard she works and that she has a delightful attitude.  She made auction with both animals!  Well done Kayla!
