Aggie!

Thursday night we were out looking at all the animals, just for fun. Erica saw that Freckles's (our longhorn) udder looked big. So we all wonder, what if she is? And how long till she has the calf is she really is pregnant? Sunday night, Kayla goes out to investigate, and Freckles has halfway had the calf already! A half hour later, Aggie was born.

Before I go any further with the story, the name Aggie needs to explained. I thought of it because she's a longhorn. For all you Texas or football people, us longhorns don't like the aggies. So I thought I would make fun of them by saying even Aggies are longhorns. :) What do ya think?

Now to continue. Aggie was up within an hour, (typical for calves and foals) nursing and walking. She can walk the entire pasture, and was frolicking this morning. :) She is a very happy calf. Aggie looks a lot like her mom, but a cuter version. She was a wonderful surprise. :)

Visit to the Hastings

Well, we are always thankful for the ways that God makes our faith to grow and May was an opportunity for all of us. Alissa & Kayla wanted to attend a National Convention, a part of Teen Pact Leadership classes, in Tennessee. Flying was too expensive and driving was very far; however, our friends the Hastings were attending and driving. So, we made the decision to allow the girls to drive by themselves (10 hours) to Arkansas to be able to attend the Conference. Erica stayed with the Hastings while Alissa, Kayla, Luke, Nate and Mr. Hastings headed to the conference. It was an awesome experience! Bret & I were able to have some down time together and all of us were able to see God's faithfulness in a new and exciting way! Many thanks to the Hastings for their kindness and hospitality! Can't wait to see what is next.....

Catching up

BEAUTIFUL!

Kayla's first gladiola

Her gladiolas have been beautiful to see! It was especially fun for the first one, Kayla cut it and gave it to me for Mother's Day! Very special. :))
It kinda looks like we have fallen off the computer.....however, life is still going at full speed here - just not catching up all our family on all that is happening. So we will try to get a few done before we head out on vacation. :))
