This is from October 2008. We were camping at Caddo Lake in North Texas. It was a total blast! Enjoy the blast from the past. :))

Welcome to our ranch - Alydar Stables. It includes our family of 5 plus 4 dogs, our barn cat - Brutus, our quarter horse mare - Cleopatra, Kayla's Shorthorn show heifer, 2 lambs; and 42 chickens. We love growing, learning, & glorifying God! Come join us.

Heath & Chloe
This past Saturday, Bret, Kayla & I were able to watch Bret's brother, Heath, and his bird dog, Chloe, go through a master hunt competition. It was really interesting (and entertaining) to watch him and the other dogs. It was an even bigger blessing to have him come spend the night with us! Neva, Bret's sister, also came over to visit. So we had a full house of family. It was a wonderful evening! Enjoy a few pics of the hunt. :)

Aggie is growing up so fast!

She is soooo big! *sniff * sniff. She is 11 weeks old now and lots of fun still. Kayla has put a halter on her a few times to "lead" her around. It is pretty interesting! She is eating ....gasp......grass, feed and hay now; although her favorite is still nursing. It has been amazing (and sniff, sniff, sad) to see her grow so fast.

Discipleship - NOW 2010
This past weekend was DNOW. We were a host home for 9 - 9th & 10th grade boys, plus 2 leaders. What a change from normal things around here! They are a GREAT bunch of boys and we enjoyed having them at our house. Erica spent her time in the apartment - plotting evil ways to try to scare the boys.......but she didn't follow through with anything. :)) We are so blessed to be able to share our home with others and pray they feel blessed having been here.
I wish I had some cool pics of all the sleeping arrangements - but alas I do not. Maybe next time.
We finished the day attending the Lamar football game as a family (sitting in different sections) while they played Sam Houston. We didn't win, but it was fun. BTW - LSU won......YAY!

Soccer

The Barracudas with the coaches
Well, Saturdays are now dedicated to watching Kayla play on her Division 2 team - The Barracudas. Saturday, October 3rd was the best game yet. Her team didn't have any subs and it was neck and neck the whole time. They were passing well and defending well. It was really, really good game. Can't wait until they play that team again! :) We will have games through mid-November. The cooler weather (46 at night!) is a nice perk. :)Shelly
