Decorating the Tree!

some of the ornaments

more ornaments

Traditional pan of fudge! YUM!

unusual shot of ornaments

not sure why the celebration.....

I like it!

we win!

Well, last night we were all able to be together and decorate our tree! What a nice family evening it was. It is always so fun every year to unpack the ornaments because we buy them from so many different places. They remind us of different family trips or a special place we went. Many of them are gifts from relatives and we enjoy remembering their love for us. The fudge is always a great help in all the fun......I guess that's why the group pictures are always so crazy! We wouldn't have it any other way! Merry Christmas!

part of the group before the head over to the party

What a lovely time they all had at the Masquerade Ball!! I think dressing up was at least half the fun! But having dinner served and playing games was also awesome! They all looked so lovely! Now it is time to reciprocate and treat the guys to a special time.......wonder what that will be?

Flashback Friday

Alissa went outside to enjoy the GORGEOUS sunny weather last November by taking her school work outside. I'm sure she got some school work done - but she also enjoyed the beautiful day - how can you blame her. Maybe we will have some gorgeous sunny days to enjoy in December. :)

Heath & Chloe

This past Saturday, Bret, Kayla & I were able to watch Bret's brother, Heath, and his bird dog, Chloe, go through a master hunt competition. It was really interesting (and entertaining) to watch him and the other dogs. It was an even bigger blessing to have him come spend the night with us! Neva, Bret's sister, also came over to visit. So we had a full house of family. It was a wonderful evening! Enjoy a few pics of the hunt. :)

A man and his dog....

WOW! Chloe is paying attention!

She can run!!

Heath is giving Chloe signals where to go

Obviously good signals cuz she found the bird.....

Waiting patiently

Aggie is growing up so fast!

She is soooo big! *sniff * sniff. She is 11 weeks old now and lots of fun still. Kayla has put a halter on her a few times to "lead" her around. It is pretty interesting! She is eating ....gasp......grass, feed and hay now; although her favorite is still nursing. It has been amazing (and sniff, sniff, sad) to see her grow so fast.

Discipleship - NOW 2010

This past weekend was DNOW. We were a host home for 9 - 9th & 10th grade boys, plus 2 leaders. What a change from normal things around here! They are a GREAT bunch of boys and we enjoyed having them at our house. Erica spent her time in the apartment - plotting evil ways to try to scare the boys.......but she didn't follow through with anything. :)) We are so blessed to be able to share our home with others and pray they feel blessed having been here.
I wish I had some cool pics of all the sleeping arrangements - but alas I do not. Maybe next time.
We finished the day attending the Lamar football game as a family (sitting in different sections) while they played Sam Houston. We didn't win, but it was fun. BTW - LSU won......YAY!

Soccer

The Barracudas with the coaches

Well, Saturdays are now dedicated to watching Kayla play on her Division 2 team - The Barracudas. Saturday, October 3rd was the best game yet. Her team didn't have any subs and it was neck and neck the whole time. They were passing well and defending well. It was really, really good game. Can't wait until they play that team again! :) We will have games through mid-November. The cooler weather (46 at night!) is a nice perk. :)

Labor Day Vacation - Day 2 at Enchanted Rock State Park

the family! :))

classic!

this is a GREAT one!

we did it!

flying?

fire power! :)

I wonder what is so funny?

my 3 girls :)

set on timer - different - I like it

I can't believe they climbed up there!!

the girls climbed (conquered) down that.....

Well, the second day of our labor day vacation near Friedericksburg we went to Enchanted Rock. The 3 girls have all been there (at different times), but Bret and I had not. It was really awesome to go on a Sunday morning and witness God's creation and beauty. We had a fun time just being together. I think we took a nap in the afternoon and enjoyed the river some more! It was a fabulous weekend. On our way home Monday, we stopped in San Antonio to shop at the Mexican Market - it is always fun to look around there!
