Bret was able to go with Alissa to Dallas to cheer her on for our family.  We are so grateful for that. Alissa did very well for her first one, she was very close to her goal and was just glad to experience her first triathlon.  She is excited to be planning the next one in the fall. Kayla may join her! Also, Macy's father (and Bret's friend) Kyle Riggs was also able to attend.  It was a fun and great weekend.  The rest of us stayed here because it was our worship leader Jim Guthrie's last Sunday, so Erica sang in the choir performance in the morning and Kayla sang in the Youth choir evening performance.  Eventful weekend!

Easter was a little different for us this year because one of the girls had to go to work after church, so these pictures are taken BEFORE leaving for Sunday School!  We had a family dinner that evening when everyone was home.  Different, but definitely do-able.  So very thankful the girls are all still home to enjoy and be all together.

Southeast Texas Fair is held right here in Beaumont, so traveling, food and sleeping is all a bit better than most other shows.  :)  Kayla's last year was good.  We had fun being together and she was a very hard worker taking care of her animals; a fact that did not go unnoticed by many parents and other adults who all commented to us how hard she works and that she has a delightful attitude.  She made auction with both animals!  Well done Kayla!

Local Show

Kayla went to a show in Kountze, Texas about 20 minutes down the road.  She won reserve champion with her steer Lane.  And she won reserve champion lamb with Albert.  She also won senior showmanship with her lamb Spice.  That is the picture above.  Overall it was a fun weekend and we were glad we went!  It was a last minute decision to go, so we are glad! She said that is her favorite buckle out of the 3 buckles she won that weekend!  :))

What a GREAT time we had celebrating with the Hastings!  It is always fun to visit friends! Bret & David both had last minute situations that prevented them from joining us, but we managed to have lots of fun, fellowship and food! Our times together are very precious and becoming harder to schedule; but we persevere! So glad for the friendship our families share together! Thanks for being AWESOME hosts!
